2005年是連續第四個乾旱年份，但乾旱期來得很早（5月底），因此可以用減少葡萄葉幕的方式，來適應這種氣候。 6月和7月天氣炎熱，從8月開始天氣轉涼。涼爽的夜晚有利於保持良好的酸度，使葡萄的成熟緩慢而穩定。

品酒筆記（灌瓶時）：

這一年的天氣雖與往年大為不同，卻為葡萄的充分成熟並保有清爽感創造了極好的條件。鼻中香氣複雜，具有熱帶果香。口中較為飽滿、圓潤、豐腴。尾香持久，且具有一絲清爽感。

Their second wine, the 2005 Carruades de Lafite, shows much of the character of its bigger sister, with loads of red and black currant fruit, spice box and earth. Medium-bodied, with soft tannins, this precise, pure and seductive wine should be drunk over the next 15-20 years. RP
